NEW PROGRAM ALERT: AUTO INNOVATION HUB
Exposing Creatives to the Automotive Industry through Design, Innovation and Music.
Make it stand out.
Arts, specifically music-based activities, can be tied to careers in the auto industry by emphasizing the overlap of creativity, technology, and sound engineering. For instance, sound engineering skills learned in music programs can be applied to designing and refining audio systems in vehicles. Automotive companies require expertise in sound design for car acoustics, infotainment systems, and enhancing in-car experiences. Additionally, we've found that creative problem-solving and teamwork skills fostered through music are valuable in technical fields like automotive design and manufacturing. By linking these skill sets, youth can pursue careers that blend artistic creativity with technical expertise.
our Objectives
Job Placement and Career Pathways: This program will lead to employment in fields like automotive mechanics and the music industry, particularly for Black and Hispanic youth who benefit from mentorship and career guidance. Training learned by DPSCD students at career tech education centers such as Breithaupt is re-enforced in our program which help increase confidence in our participants when interviewing for jobs.
Racial Equity in Technical Fields: Black and Latino students, who are often underrepresented in technical careers, benefit from access to industry networks, training, and mentorship. Our programming is creating a talent pipeline for employers while also increasing diversity.
Mental Health and Wellness through Music: Music therapy is the use of music and/or elements of music (like sound, rhythm and harmony) to accomplish goals, like reducing stress or improving quality of life for youth.
Disaggregating outcomes by race/ethnicity, Black and Hispanic youth are our primary groups serviced and where we focus on gains in technical skills, graduation rates, and job placements, addressing disparities in career access.
